What improvements did you see?

Professionally, improvements made have been both tangible and intangible.
A fortunate stroke of serendipity has been seen in relationships outside of the workplace. My involvement with HP3 has improved relationships in my personal life, in my family (with my wife and children) and with myself. While I am in healthcare leadership and a clinician, my involvement in HP3 has also has been the catalyst for significant improvements in my physical health.
In our organization, we have implemented many of the tools that I’ve been exposed to in HP3. These tools, with important changes in perspective in leadership, thought process, communication, measurement, and competence have resulted in improvements in our workplace culture as well as business metrics.
- Culture and relationship improvements have resulted in a reduction in turnover by 18% over the past 12 months.
- Changes in leadership’s view of competence, communication, accountability, and measurement of competence has led to improvements in our organization.
- Measurable improvement in patient satisfaction scores in both our home health and hospice.
- Measureable improvement in employee satisfaction has been noted over the past 12 months (measured semi-annually)
- Measureable improvement in organic business growth in terms of census and revenue have been realized.
* A few notable examples:
- 13% increase in hospice business unit revenue over the past 8 months.
- 8% increase in profit in home health seen in the past 6 months.
- 15% reduction in labor costs in home health business unit seen in the past 8 months while improving publicly reported outcomes and rehospitalization metrics.
- Improvement in workflow and systems in billing and collection department have resulted in a reduction of AR greater than 30 days old by 12% in the past 12 months.

“I feel like we are off to a great start. This past 30 day has been a real eye-opener for me. For so many years I wasn’t fueling my body appropriately and never really could grasp a structured workout plan. I feel like this first month I have learned so much from you. I am starting to understand how my body works and pushing it to new limits. I am excited to be eating a clean diet now and feel so much better since I started your exercise plan. I also lost 7 lbs! I think that is pretty good for the first 30 days. I know this is the healthy way to lose weight, slow and steady.”

“You know something else I’ve noticed (and even my assistant has noticed)? Since I’ve changed my eating, my focus and concentration are better at the office. I’m not so ADHD; I banged out 2 huge psych evaluation reports in two days last week and that’s like a new record. I can start and finish a task much better. I don’t know if it’s my blood sugar is more stable or what but I’ll take it!”
